just what I ordered July 9, 2010 Mercedes L. Hughes (Fairbanks, Alaska USA) Although I would have appreciated paying $3.99 for the shipping of the 2 sets of trackballs I ordered, I appreciated the speedy delivery. The tools are pretty helpful for putting the silver piece back into place, but I certainly didn't use all of them. I had no issues with the trackball sticking. Hopefully I can manage not to break the ring again.
Just what I needed... July 7, 2010 *Shannon* After dropping my BB Curve more than a few times, the ring that held the trackball in place began popping out and the prongs broke off. After reading the reviews of this item and several other similar offerings, I decided to purchase this one. It arrived within 3 days and contained 2 sets of a new ring and trackball. The new trackball didn't roll quite as smoothly as my old one so I just placed the new ring over my existing trackball and put the others away in case of future need. The new ring hasn't budged and I'm so glad I ordered this product rather than go through the expense of dealing directly with Verizon or RIM.
Great price, average quality June 18, 2010 Looking4Help (New Hampshire) I ordered this product after being told by Verizon, that my phone couldn't be fixed when the trackball broke. I thought for the price of this, I would take a chance. It arrived on time, took no more then 5 minutes to install, and does the job. It seems that it is not as sensitive as the original product even after adjusting the setting on the phone, but for the price - it works, just have to get used to things. Don't be afraid to try it, anyone can install it.
DO NOT GET A NEW PHONE! May 6, 2010 J. DuncanBoyden (Hayward, CA United States) I can't say how many times our trackballs have gone bad, only to be told by the store (AT&T) to bring it in and they'd replace THE PHONE since it was under warranty. This time, we're out of warranty and they had absolutely NO FIX. Buy a new phone or find someone who can help you - we can't. A very cool person at an off-the-wall shop said, "Hey, I shouldn't tell you this, but you can get one at Amazon and they are very easy to replace." She's gettin' flowers or something. This was an incredibly easy fix - drop in the ball, mess around with the cover a bit and BINGO! Back in service.
Shame on AT&T for not offering this to their customers. Let's continue to pile up old cell phones in landfills when we can fix this problem almost instantly.
Oh, and the shipping info was right on the nose - arrived as anticipated. A little pricey (the shipping) but, of course, I paid for it. Don't hesitate - this was embarrassingly easy!
