I bought this as all the items I use in my car can be charged by USB (iPod touch & my cell phone / Google G1 mainly). While the item itself is quite simple, I feel that it is constructed well which makes me believe it will last a long time. This is important to me as I just want it to work -- all the time without worry. This simple device gives me that feeling, hence the 5 star review.

I have a Miata, and my previous USB lighter adapter was big enough to get in the way of shifting. This one sticks out about 3/4". I'd prefer it to be almost flush, but it's the smallest I've found, and it was very reasonably priced.

The product: "Black Mini USB Car Charger Black for iPod, Zune, Mp3 Player and PDA Devices" : advertised as being able to charge a Zune does not charge the Zune at all.
When connected to the 12V socket, all that happens is the red led glows.
I am very disappointed with the purchase and I would advise others reading this review to not even consider this product, small though it may be.

This is an amazingly low profile USB to car lighter that works very well. Really glad I purchased this as it is so much smaller then what it replaced and it looks much nicer.
