This battery never worked properly. NEVER. It wouldn't hold a charge for more than a couple days right off the bat, it took at least 12 hours to charge it up fully, and finally, after only using it for about 2 months, the cursor disappeared from my Kindle!!! I went through all the troubleshooting with an amazon rep, and reset everything, but still no cursor, which meant my Kindle was useless. I could see what books I had, but I couldn't access any of them. Very wierd. So I bought another Kindle. A few days after I ordered the new one, I got curious and decided to dig up original battery that came with the Kindle. I charged it up as best as it would take, and wouldn't you know it, the cursor came back!!! There was something really wrong about this!! So $259.00 later, I discovered that I didn't really have to replace the Kindle after all. It was just a battery from hell. You've now had fair warning. Make your choice of batteries wisely!!

First off, I had no problem installing this slightly smaller than the Amazon brand battery.
When I first installed it, end of March 2010, it did great. It charged fast and held a charge. However, here it is only June 17, 2010 and I am awaiting a new battery because this one needs to be charged everyday and it takes roughly 4 hours to fully recharge (only takes 2 hours to drop power by 1/4). It lasted less than 3 months!
Basically, I'd say its not better or worse than the replacement battery that Amazon offers. I guess it is cheaper but it still sucks. :)
Hurry up with the K3 Amazon...we're waiting!

UPDATE: On June 17th, the same day I wrote the initial review, I also contacted the maker of this battery via email to ask about their 1-year warranty - I never got anything with the battery on what to do if you needed to use the warranty. Just thought I would let people know that I still have not heard anything from the company, Dekcell. If I ever do hear back from them, which I seriously doubt at this point, I'll do another update. It's looking like the 1-year warranty, much like the battery, is nothing to count on.

I really didn't need the exta battery but if I ordered it in addition to the electric charger there was no shipping cost, which was more than the cost of the battery. It turned out it was nice to have as we were in an area that did not use 110v and I had the extra power I needed with the extra battery.
My only complaint is that the tiny battery came in a box that you could have put 3 pairs of size 12 shoes in! Surely they could have shipped in something smaller.

I've had the new battery now for about a month and no complaints. It holds a charge like the original battery did. My original battery lasted 2 years, but at the end I could barely use the Kindle for more then a few hours before loosing battery, and if I turned the wireless on it'd only hold charge for 10-15 minutes! With the new one it works fine and I don't have to worry any more.
