Works well with Cannon Pixma IP 100 July 23, 2010

i just purchased a new Pixma IP 100 after my 4 years old plus IP 90 would not print on my recent trip Oversea's I believe the print head may have been clogged, I thought I would go ahead and purchase IP 100 after reading reviews on Amazon. I also ordered the Bluetooth adapter, works well as a print adapter from my first floor home office, to downstairs where i have this printer located. it works great with my macbook pro, as well as my HP DVT 6000 laptop which is located upstairs. However it is expensive.

I received this item on time and in good condition. However, I returned this adapter because it turned out to be incompatible with my Canon PIXMA MX310 printer. It was a long shot to begin with, but I was hoping that because it was designed for the PIXMA line of printers, it would allow me to make my particular printer wireless. No such luck. I'm assuming the adapter will work fine with the MX850 for which it is designed.

I purchased the BU-30 to use with my Canon iP100 portable printer. After installation it did not work at all. Nada. Zip. I did some searching on the internet and discovered that it took a different driver that was downloadable from the Canon website. I got it and everything works perfectly. Very convenient, but the hassle and searching took me a while to work through. Canon should include such information in its pitifully inadequate documentation. I would definitely recommend the BU-30 for use with this printer, though, because once the proper driver is installed it works quickly and very well.

Canon makes a great little printer in the PIXMA iP100 printer.. Sold as a network printer. But; not so until you buy another necessary piece which took me two months and several dry runs to find one in stock. First time with Amazon was a sort of bait and switch.. In stock when I ordered it online then a few days later I was told they could not deliver. Finally got the adapter. Works as promised. Easy to install and NOW THE PRINTER IS A "NETWORK" PRINTER. I suspect Amazon was caught in the middle of Canon's production deficiency as I found out were other potential suppliers. Basic fault is that the adapter should be an integral part of these several printers of CanonCanon PIXMA iP100 Mobile Photo PrinterCanon BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter for PIXMA MX850.
Very nice (but why not covered in the battery compartment). February 15, 2010

I wanted to be free of cables with my IP100 printer. This is the only device usable for this and it works flawless.
Only down side - why couldn't it be hidden inside the battery compartment or in another way. It is way too exposed as it is mounted now.
