i don't know how i got this adapter WORKING but its showing up in my device manager as a NEW network device and a few other devices show up as well.
the 1 device that shows up is BlueTooth USB
the 2 device is bluetooth PAN network adapter
the 3 device is its also showing up in my sound & video controllers as bluetooth AV audio, bluetooth SCO audio
the 4 device is its in my Ports (COM & LPT)
showing up as bluetooth serial port from port 4 through port 12
the 5 device i,m not sure if its from the bluetooth adapter or not but its showing up as microsoft virtual WiFi miniport adapter.
but from sort of LUCK i,v got it working on WINDOWS 7 now this is ODD because i installed the drivers from the disc it came with and installed the software that was on the disc i could not get into the configuration to do anything so i tryed again with BETTER success then the first time but anyway its runing just fine on WINDOWS 7.

I purchased this item because it was one of the few that was supposed to work with Windows 7 64 bit. It does install correctly, without needing install a driver first. But the range of the device is LESS THAN 3 FEET. Nowhere close to the advertised 100 meters. It was absolutely useless for what I bought it for, wireless transfer of files to my Nexus One. I literally had to hold the phone within inches of the receiver to keep the connection alive. With a range like that, I'd rather just keep using a USB cable.
I will be returning this product.

Switched to this after trying a cheaper $0.99 one on Linux and seeing it fail to keep a pairing for more than a few seconds. This one works much better, and I confirm a range of at least 25' with my Sony Bluetooth remote control.
I'm using Fedora 12, 64bit and kbluetooth to do scanning and pairing.

This was so easy to setup and resolved my issues with my pda/cell phone not being able to connect with my pc for synchronization using the cable. With the blue tooth adapter, I can now synch wirelessly with no issues. Worked the moment that I plugged this in. I would buy this again.
